It’s that time of year again – time for snow, the beginning of frigid weather and the holidays. The end-of-year holiday season can inspire reflection and acts of giving back to our communities. We’re proud to stand behind our client, International Institute of Buffalo, as they continue to accept donations for immigrants and refugees residing in or relocating to Buffalo.
About International Institute of Buffalo
Since 1918, the International Institute of Buffalo has been supporting immigrants and refugees to become independent, contributing members of the community. The Institute strives to inform our communities, while strengthening refugee and immigrant relationships in Western New York.
How You Can Help
With several new families relocating to Buffalo this winter, let’s live up to our name of the City of Good Neighbors. There are dozens of ways to help the International Institute. Many immigrants and refugees have never experienced winter or snow before, so warm clothes and outerwear are necessities. Aside from donations, volunteers are also needed throughout the winter months.
Here are a few donation options:
- Warm clothes: coats, gloves, hats, socks, scarves, boots
- Personal items: shampoo, toothbrushes, soap, deodorant
- School items and toys
- Household items: dish soap, cleaner, trash bags, etc.
